welcome Linda,

I just ordered Carouby seeds from Pinetree Garden Seeds, described on the post:Planting a Delicious New Year . They said a few years ago that they would be discontinuing the variety, so I bought a big supply and meant to start saving them. Didn't get around to it so I'm glad they're available again. Will try harder this time in the saving department, just to be sure I have a supply and that the supply is a good one (the previous seeds produced quite a few off-type plants, which might be why Pinetree stopped selling them).

Just a note to say that your Web site, the photography and the writing is beautiful. I've been garden writing for the Chicago Tribune and teaching design/vegetable gardening at the Chicago Botanic Garden and elsewhere for about 15 years. My sister and I have enjoyed your book on the 3000-mile-garden (our mother hails from Essex, England). I rarely visit garden blogs or listservs (because I try to manage my time wisely!), but your site is one that I have bookmarked. It is lovely. Would love to see you come to Chicago to teach a class. Thanks for the inspiration!

Welcome, Lee and Annie

If you've been at it for 60 years, you must have plenty of good garden info yourselves. I hope you'll share it when the spirit moves you and meanwhile I'm totally jealous of your "shrimp man." There used to be one who came near here but that was a while ago.

Just found your site - was looking for a way to cook Maine Shrimp of all things. We are located in mid state CT as you can see from our site, and the Maine "shrimp man" is here every weekend for a month or so. We are excited about your gardening info. Have gardened here in CT for over 60 years. Many thanks Lee & Annie MacDonald

Hi Anna

Good question - thanks for asking! Given how many vine crops we grow I think it's worthy of a post, so please stay tuned for ( illustrated, if I can dig out some pics) info.
