I've just been prowling around your beautiful site and wanted to say hi and that I'll leave random comments here an there :) I am currently starting from seed a whole bunch of heirloom tomatoes bought from a somewhat local seed purveyor. www.saltspringseeds.com

Last year we had an awful season, no late blight but the coldest summer on record (snow in June!, nighttime lows of 40) and no greenhouse. We got very few tomatoes, but they were all amazing in flavor. I trusted the seed company to buy more this year - even some early cold resistant varieties, mainly out of Russia. This year I even labeled pots correctly! :)

This spring is looking promising, so I'm quite excited to see what happens - I'm a firm believer in better than the store, and so far each tomato I grew - was.

This article really resonated with me -- I'm looking for some lavender for next spring and the catalogs have been coming. So lovely to look at those promises of spring when we have 14 inches of snow on the ground!
