Great post - Looking forward to the day when I have my own house and greenhouse! What plants do you grow in yours? I would love to grow figs one day...

This was an excellent post! I just found this blog and am enjoying your highly detailed descriptions of mushroom hunting and now greenhouse building. I never would have considered the convection loop, but I think it's brilliant!

We have maybe a 10'x5' south-and-west facing area to the side of our garage that is just begging for a greenhouse, and these just may be the plans I'll follow to build it. Thanks again!

Well, I'm thrilled with this clearly written set of instructions for the greenhouse, and knowing that the thermal mass of the floor does indeed contribute to the greenhouse heating. It is *quite* wonderful, and I have deep greenhouse envy! Love to see the cats groovin on it; do they ever try to binge and purge on the greenery? (Ours would.)

And here I was feeling quite smug at being able to take down some of our deer fencing on my own. Ah, well! You have very fortunate cats, indeed!

Oh, this is fabulous, all of it, but most especially the cats and winter blooms. I will live vicariously on this one unless I figure out a way to enclose the fire escape, but I don't think that would go over very well with the fire department.
